In 2007, I visited Sri Lanka. Then Sri Lanka’s civil war went on. Ethnic war between the Sinhalese majority and the Tamil minority lasted for 26 years(1983-2009) and up to 100,000 people were killed. This war is still casting a dark shadow on the friendly country. But under such an unstable situation, Sri Lanka was beautiful and people were very kind and had lots of hospitality.
The civil war ended in 2009, and it is said that Sri Lanka was united as a nation. Nowadays, lots of tourist visits this country and have unforgettable experiences. I’d like to visit this country, especially travel to Northern part, where I couldn’t go due to the fierce battle.
